The Hotel reopened for the season on April 1, 2002. All Hotel rooms have private baths, two have access to the second floor screened porch and two have working fireplaces. Room prices range from $100/night to $115/night with a fantastic breakfast included in your room price.

In 1999, this 19th century Hotel (the Whitehaven Hotel) was saved from the wrecking ball through the cooperative efforts of local residents, the Maryland Historic trust and by those captivated by its charming location in a riverfront Eastern Shore village at the Whitehaven Ferry, minutes from the Chesapeake Bay. The Hotel, now one of the last of its kind, provided lodging for travelers crossing the Wicomico by horse to Quantico, Salisbury and Princess Anne and by steamship to ports as far as Baltimore.

The romantic village of Whitehaven is a perfect place for a small wedding or reception. The Hotel's two dining rooms and living room have room for up to 65 guests. The Hotel and Whitehaven B&B have overnight accommodations of 12 rooms. The charming local church is known for its interior woodwork, crafted by ship carpenters. Please call to discuss our full range of features.

The Hotel, now one of the last of its kind, provided lodging for travelers crossing the Wicomico by horse to Quantico, Salisbury and Princess Anne and by steamship to ports as far as Baltimore. And yes, the Whitehaven Ferry still crosses the Wicomico River.

What is there to do in Whitehaven? You can take a nice walk or ride a bike around the village, or relax and watch boats glide down the Wicomico River. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, the hotel has two kayaks for the use of guests. Whitehaven has several well known artists with studios you can visit. And you can see a variety of birds, including opsrey, herons, egrets, and many others. Or, watch Chesapeake Bay Watermen work the Bay. Whitehaven represents a way of life which is fast disappearing from the Eastern Shore. Enjoy a little bit of yesterday with precious memories for tomorrow -  a great get-a-way.

Marine facilities are available across the street in the Whitehaven Marina and the best all-you-can-eat seafood on the Shore is available at The Red Roost just three miles away.  By power boat appxox. 45 minutes and sailboat approx 2 hours to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
